Small but mighty, and a voice with an old soul; She is far from ordinary. McKenna Fenimore is a passionate musician and singer/songwriter from Long Island, NY. She specializes in R&B and Jazz music, taking inspiration from artists such as the beloved Shirley Horn, PJ Morton, Robert Glasper and Tori Kelly.
McKenna shares heartfelt stories of others and her own, joyfully exploring the highs and lows of life. Her original music is honest, comprised of love, loss, growth, and healing as heard in her debut single “Something About May” and jazz ballad “It Was All A Mistake”. All made complete by each curl on her head and a quiet but steady sense of faith that grounds her along the way.
From an early age, McKenna recognized music as her calling. Influenced by legendary voices like Etta James and Aretha Franklin, driven by a love for songwriting, she pursued a degree in Music Industry and Jazz Studies at Syracuse University. Throughout her studies, McKenna honed her craft by performing in a wide range of ensembles. From choirs and big bands to intimate trios, she remained an active presence in the university’s vibrant music scene, as well as in local venues and churches.
Her dedication to vocal performance has led to appearances on prestigious stages, including Carnegie Hall, the Tilles Center, and the JMA Wireless Dome. A highlight of her growing career was opening for the renowned Syracuse Jazz Festival in June 2023, an experience that affirmed her passion for live performance and connection through music.
